When school pushes your child down or out, you can push back.
WHAT I DO
I zealously represent kids in juvenile court, especially kids who were arrested at school or referred to court by school administrators.
When working with the school just won’t work anymore, I defend your child’s rights by filing special education due process complaints or lawsuits on their behalf.
You should never feel lost, alone, or ignored in an IEP meeting. I attend IEP meetings on you and your child’s behalf, using my experience as both an educator and a lawyer to make sure your voice is heard.
Schools should be safe and supportive
A Lawyer and an Educator
Chris is a lawyer and former educator with a Master’s in urban education. He’s spent his career supporting children in the classroom and the courtroom, fighting for the right of every child to experience a healthy and happy childhood. He accepts special education, school discipline, and juvenile delinquency cases throughout the state of Tennessee.
Supporting Kids in Times of Crisis
Schools must hold a special “manifestation meeting” before they can expel a special education student. These meetings are your child’s best chance to avoid an unfair suspension or expulsion. Chris can come with you.
Get your special education student back to their home school faster if the school wrongly imposes an unfair suspension or expulsion. Chris can help with an expedited appeal.
Kids arrested at school need complex advocacy in both juvenile court and the school discipline process. Chris has years of experience advocating for kids in both the classroom and the courtroom.
Children with disabilities have a right learn in regular classrooms with their non-disabled peers. Chris can help when your district wants to segregate your child in a special school or classroom.

Get the Support You and Your Child Deserves
Students with special needs or who lack economic resources are in danger of unfair treatment and even arrest due to Tennessee's School Threat Laws that push kids out of schools rather than help them reach their full potential.
